Rick's bike is a 1990 Honda Africa Twin XRV750 (RD04)

- V-Twin 750 CC engine
- 24 liter standard fuel tank
- bought 2nd hand from René in Utrecht
- started this trip with around 62000 km's driven
- weighs fully packed 340 kg's (without Rick)
- has around 200 liters of package space, partly in
  cases bought from Sjef, who has driven around the
  world with it a few times already)
- equipped with tools, spare parts, chairs, tent, books, pots
  and pans, and an extra jerrycan for petrol
- had an airfilter full of stones after 7000 km's
  (I cut away too much plastic to fit the cases.. Oops!)
- had it's first flat tyre driving into a mechanic shop in Kas,
  Turkey
- drives like a tank. Solid and (so far) indestructable
- accesories: hot grips, grip covers, elephant on the front,
  gps, compass, SIREN, music box, bicycle horn, 12v charging
  system for laptop, phone and batteries
Maike's bike is a 1987 Honda Transalp XL600V (PD06)

- V-Twin 600 CC engine
- 18 liter standard fuel tank
- bought 2nd hand from Jeroen en Annet in Denekamp
- started this trip with around 61000 km's driven
- Weighs fully packed 260 kg's (without Maike)
- has around 120 liters of package space
- equipped with the kitchen, cooker, sleeping bags, matresses,
  spare parts, tools, water jerrycan and a lot of spare oil (this
  bike is a consumer...)
- had a front tyre that was almost 20 years old.. changed it in
  Turkey. the brake disc and pads were changed in Athens
- had a piece cut out of the seat to adjust the bike to Maike's
  height :)
- accesories: hot grips, grip covers, kermit the frog on the
  front, temperature gauge, decorations on the kitchen,
  toothpicks, helmet holder
